Here's several horror games that are $2.00 USD or less, the cheapest they've ever been, that I'd recommend on sale. Still, a few misc recommendations from me. I left several out both because I was lazy to write and organize brief things about them (also I am honestly busy with holiday/family stuff right now), and there's a lot of games I kind of missed under $2 right now I'd recommend well enough, like Shutter was one I realized was missing under that price. I posted this in the main sale topic yesterday, before my original posting let me preface this was a quickly-slapped together list of horror games under $2. Very solid games with decent production values. Despite beginning life as a mobile game, it's a surprisingly large, in depth and well designed RPG.ĭrakensang and it's sequel are Baldur's Gate style CRPG's set in Germany's PNP rule set dujour The Dark Eye. This is for hardcore TRPG fans only though, it is very very challenging.Ĭlassic grid based first person RPG in the vein of Might and Magic or the Elder Scrolls.

They took the surprisingly great combat system from AOD and built a full game around it. You can play through this many many times, each time seeing new areas, getting new quests and doing entirely new things.įrom the developers of the afore mentioned Age of Decadence, Dungeon Rats is a tactical RPG set in the Age of Decadence world. The game is fairly short (about 10 hours or so) but is built for replay. You can do combat focused runs, dialog focused runs, stealth runs, pretty much anything really. Age of Decadence is for you if you like games that let you role play exactly the character you want and to have the world respond accordingly. The poster child for choice and consequence. A *huge* game with tons to see and do, if you like exploration, challenging combat and satisfying character progression it's definitely worth getting.
Steam 2017 winter sale series#
Lords of Xulima is a game built in the vein of the Might and Magic series although it's isometric and not first person. UnderRail is a fantastic isometric RPG in the vein of Fallout 1 and 2 although with a larger focus on combat and exploration then the Fallout's. While at its core it's still a Souls-like game, there are so many nice tweaks that make the game special.ĭeus Ex: Mankind Divided - $8.99 (85% off)įalcom's best game in my opinion. I haven't played LotF due to the general negativity surrounding the game, but I'm glad I took the risk on this one. Yeah, that doesn't sound compelling at all. If you can get past the MC's outfit (you can change her outfit, but it reverts to the original one in cutscenes/skits), you really shouldn't sleep on this one.Īnother Souls-like game from the maker of Lords of the Fallen, but now in sci-fi. The game is just so much better than Zestiria, improved in so many aspects from the cast, equipment system, and story. But it turned out pretty amazing in the end. RPG fans really shouldn't sleep on this one.įollowing the not-so-great Tales of Zestiria, I kept my expectation very low for Berseria. Exploration is well-rewarded, choices do matter, progression is so satisfying, and the world feels so alive and well-realized. While the game is indeed janky (it's actually a feature), it's a pretty solid and deep open-world RPG. but nope, this game blew my expectations out of the water. All their games are similar: Drox Operative is a space Diablo-like, where you’re one person essentially among a dynamic 4X game between dynamic factions that you can help and influence, while Zombasite is a Diablo-like among a fantasy world being overcome by an undead scourgeĪ Euro-jank RPG from the maker of Risen series? Gross. Urgent quests are quite literally urgent, plagues and monsters and famine can strike, and you can arm your villagers with loot you find so they can defend themselves against monster attacks. Here, as you descend into dungeons and do quests, your choices and interactions have effects on the towns and villagers outside. It’s a Diablo-like (loot, levels, classes and multi-classes and a lot of skills) with the key difference being the developer’s hallmark: dynamic system-driven world/interactions. Make our wallets cry and wishlists bulge with all those awesome surprising hidden gems and recommendationsĭiscovered this one and this dev pretty recently. Another big Steam Sale, so it’s time for everyone’s favorite thread.
